IGNORE THIS SONG John Soeder © 2010 Who am I To offer you advice And who am I To tell you how to live your life Yeah I could say You should seize the day But I’m sure you know that Anyway So I beg you, I beg you, I beg you, I beg you Ignore this song What do I know About the vagaries of love And what do I know About the stars above This is not The time or place To enlighten The human race I beg you, I beg you, I beg you Ignore this song The secret of life Is not mine to share But I have a hunch It doesn’t rhyme Who am I To offer you advice And who am I To tell you how to live your life You know the drill When the going gets tough Do unto others And all that stuff But I beg you, I beg you, I beg you, I beg you Ignore this song Please I beg you, I beg you, I beg you, I beg you Ignore this song

SINGING AVE MARIA John Soeder © 2010 I’ve roamed this world from east to west Another Saturday night in my Sunday best I love the onomatopoeia Singing Ave Maria Singing Ave Maria Wise men have come here from afar Led by the light of a neon star Someone outside a pizzeria Is singing Ave Maria Singing Ave Maria Come on you cherubim Sing out you seraphim Let’s hear a hymn about Maria Swing low sweet chariot You ain’t heard nothing yet Salve Regina Come on you cherubim Sing out you seraphim Let’s hear the one about Maria Swing low sweet chariot You ain’t heard nothing yet Salve Regina At Christmastime a cold wind blows A mother holds her baby close Silent night fever Angels on high Angels on high Angels on high Singing Ave Maria

I’M A BALLOON John Soeder © 2010 I’m a balloon Let me go I can’t stay here anymore Wave goodbye As I float into the sky I’m a balloon Let me go Ain’t no life for me down here I’d best be on my way up there If I stay I’ll only fade away I’m a balloon Let me go Oooh Nobody knows my name But they’re glad I came This world is not my home This world is not my home Oooh Nobody knows my name But they’re glad I came This world is not my home This world is not my home I can see for miles up here All the problems disappear It’s a beautiful view Everything looks brand new And I see you Oooh Nobody knows my name But they’re glad I came This world is not my home This world is not my home Oooh Nobody knows my name But they’re glad I came This world is not my home This world is not my home I’m a balloon I’m a balloon I’m a balloon Let me go I can’t stay here anymore Wave goodbye As I float into the sky Hold me in your heart And let me go Oooh Nobody knows my name But they’re glad I came This world is not my home This world is not my home Oooh Nobody knows my name But they’re glad I came This world is not my home This world is not my home

TELL ’EM I SAID HELLO John Soeder © 2010 I knew a boy Looked kinda like me He laughed a lot He was carefree Now it’s been too long Where did he go If you see him Tell him I said hello I knew a girl Looked just like you There was nothing in the world She could not do It’s been awhile now Where did she go If you see her Tell her I said hello All together on the count of three We gotta solve a mystery What became of you and me What became of you and me One more time on the count of three We gotta solve a mystery Things ain’t what they used to be Whatever happened to you and me I knew this boy I knew this girl They made each other laugh Not a care in the world Kinda like us A long time ago If you see ’em Tell ’em I said hello Yeah if you see ’em Tell ’em I said hello

WHO’S GONNA BUY YOUR PRETTY THINGS John Soeder © 2010 I got lots of money I got lots of time Before you walk out you better think twice If you leave me Who’s gonna buy your pretty things I got lots of money I got lots of time Before you walk out you better think twice If you leave me Who’s gonna buy your pretty things You keep telling me You’re gonna make it on your own But where you gonna get your sugar sugar If your sugar daddy’s gone I know why The caged bird sings I’ll getcha diamonds I’ll getcha pearls Make you the envy of all the other girls If you leave me Who’s gonna buy your pretty things Believe me honey I know exactly how you feel Money can’t buy you happiness But I’m sure we can make a deal I know why The caged bird sings Yes I do I got plenty of money I got plenty of time Before you walk out you better think twice Before you walk out you better think twice What about the diamonds What about the pearls What about the other girls What about the other girls If you leave me Who’s gonna buy your pretty things You keep telling me You’re gonna make it on your own But where you gonna get your sugar sugar If your sugar daddy’s gone gone gone We all know why The caged bird sings Don’t leave me Who’s gonna buy your pretty things

about

The fourth(ish) album by John Soeder. The cover photo was snapped by yours truly -- the remains of a Cedar Point sunset, July 4, 2009. "Ignore This Song" is my favorite song. Hopefully, the other tracks have their moments. "Fanfare" and "Fanfare (Reprise)" are instrumental variations on the main themes of the other songs on the album. "Exit Music for an Awkward Social Encounter" is an instrumental, too. Recorded February-March 2010. A Stolen Moments Production.
